Kenneth Edward  Smallwood
Kenneth Edward Smallwood, 82, a lifelong resident of Frederick County and Winchester, VA, passed away on December 21, 2016 at his home at Hilltop House in Winchester, VA.
Kenny was born in Clarke County, VA on December 21, 1934; the oldest child of Idell Geneva Smallwood Conard. He graduated from Handley High School and then spent eight years serving our country in the Air Force. After his discharge he worked as a salesman for Lamar Sloan Ford then eventually moved on to Potomac Edison where he worked as a meter reader until he retired in 1997.
He was an avid bowler and card player and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, The American Legion and the Terrace Club.
He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Umbenour and husband Tracy, of Stephens City, VA and Serena Ramirez and husband, Joe, of Pensacola, FL; his sister Margie Rutkowski of Chambersburg, PA and brother Marice Smallwood of Stephens City, VA as well as three grandchildren, Julia Umbenour, Regina Ramirez and Jake Ramirez.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Diane Y. Smallwood.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27th from 10:00-11:00am at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00am. A private burial with military honors will be held for immediate family at National Cemetery in Winchester following the service.
Pallbearers will be Ed Simmers, George Simmers, Steve Smallwood, Tucker Simmers, Chuck Simmers and Austin Simmers.
Memorial contributions can be made to Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 809 Greenwood Road, Winchester, VA 22602.
