Obituary for Marjorie Lucille Lake (Perry)

Marjorie Lucille Lake (Perry)
Marjorie Lucille Perry Lake went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the age of 91. She passed at the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center after a long courageous battle with all the complications that come with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Lucille was born to John and Mabel Allamong Perry in 1925, was the seventh of 8 children and is the last survivor of her siblings; Mary, Bessie, Edward, Woodrow, Eva, Louise and Ruth. She was raised on the family farm in Frederick County and lived there many years and later with her husband and children. Lucille met and married Charles Alvin Lake on February 25, 1942. They were married for 72 years before he passed on December 5th 2014 and they raised four children, Carol L. Vaden (Donald), Linda L. Hart (Robert), Ronald C. Lake (Debbie) and Michael A. Lake (Helen).
Lucille worked for many years at J.J. Newberry Department Store on Loudoun Street at the lunch counter. She was later employed with Capital Records where she worked until retirement in 1987. Charles and Lucille moved to The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida, in December 1990 and lived there for 24 years. She loved cooking, baking, gardening and arranging her roses for the altar at her church. She also loved her music and played piano and sang her favorite hymns with joy throughout her life. While retired in Florida, Lucille volunteered at an assisted living facility where she played the piano and helped to attend to the elderly. Charles and Lucille moved back to Winchester shortly before his death in 2014.
Lucille is survived by three of her children, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her seven siblings, her husband, Charles and her son, "Ronnie".
Family would like to thank Lucille’s special caregivers at Spring Arbor’s ‘The Cottage’ and the loving attention and care provided by the nurses, aides and volunteers at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home followed by a celebration of her life on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, also at Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester.
