Gary Grant Mason, 71, of Winchester, VA passed away at Green Valley Commons Assisted Living on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.

Mr. Mason was born in Winchester, VA on November 13, 1944, the son of Edgar Russel Mason and Martha Pearl Parkinson Mason. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. He retired from Crown Cork and Seal as a machinist. After his retirement, he enjoyed karaoke and had a great love for being an Elvis impersonator. He also enjoyed the Yesterday’s Cruisers. He married Linda Jean Mason on May 9, 1964 in Hagerstown, MD.

He was a member of Little Mountain United Methodist Church. He was also a long time member of the Eagles Lodge of Winchester, the U.A.W., VFW of Winchester, and the American Legion.

Mr. Mason is survived by his children, Jamey Mason (Nancy). of Stephens City, VA, and Pamela Mason, of Stephens City, VA; a brother, Roger Mason of Frederick County, VA; a sister, Gilda Rotz of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, James Gladden and Robert Gladden and a sister, Betty Williams.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Winchester, VA.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, in Winchester, VA, with Pastor Rick Haymaker of Agape West N.M., officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St, Winchester, VA 22601.
