“Smitty”
Annie Frances Anderson, 93, of Winchester, Virginia, died October, 27, 2016 at Lynn Care Center of Front Royal, VA.
She was born October 27, 1923 in Front Royal, VA, the daughter of Marcus William and Nannie Mae Sealock Mills. She was a member of Ninevah Presbyterian Church and a past member of Women of the Moose.
Annie married John Edward Anderson July 31, 1950. Mr. Anderson preceded her in death.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by a daughter, Carol Dergance of Littleton, CO, two grandchildren, Scott Dergance and wife Faan, and Dr. Jeannae Dergance MD; four great grandchildren, Kade Ryan Cochran, Jordyn Marie Cochran, Aaike Emme Dergance, and Mercer Penn Dergance; a sister Ida Mills Price of Winchester, VA; and her niece and care giver Sandra Miller of Winchester, VA and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband John, she was preceded in death by a brother Marvin Whittington Mills and two sisters Dora Melinda Mills and Hattie Mills Grove.
The family will receive friends Sunday October 30, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday October 31, 2016 at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Sandra Thomas officiating. Burial will be Tuesday November 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, VA.
The family of Mrs. Anderson would like to thank the staff of Spring Arbor in Winchester and Lynn Care of Front Royal for their compassionate care given while living at each of the facilities.
