Dorothy McKinney Hoffman, 86, formerly of Winchester, VA passed away October 23, 2016 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Tawas City, MI.

Dorothy was born January 4, 1930 in Raleigh, NC, the daughter of the late Alice Golliday. She married Jerry Franklin Hoffman on December 15, 1964.

Mrs. Hoffman was a retired manager for Avon Cosmetics. She also was a member of the Moose, Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Darlene McKinney, of Oscoda, MI; two grandchildren; Kathryn Rose McKinney (James Plantenga) of Grand Rapids, MI and Jennifer Marie McKinney (Kevin Kaliszewski) of Tawas City, MI; a step-daughter, Rebecca Combs, of Ashton, VA; and a sister, Elizabeth Mullins of North Royalton, Ohio, and nieces Cheryl Meriwether and Kristen Mullins.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jerry, and two sons, Randolph Paul McKinney and James Michael McKinney. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul McKinney.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov 3rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held for Dorothy and her husband Jerry at 11:00 am on Friday, Nov 4th, at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Pastor C. Steve Melester officiating. Entombment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your local animal shelter.
