Mrs. Joy Maxine “Muddy” Affleck, 86, of Winchester, VA went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Blue Ridge Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Affleck was born in Winchester on April 2, 1930, the daughter of Robert and Maude Catherine Deavers Cline. Joy married Lewis A. Affleck on June 10, 1951 in Winchester. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She attended Heritage Baptist Church and loved to read and garden.

Joy leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 65 years, Lewis, a son, Ernest Affleck and wife, Catherine, of Strasburg, VA; two daughters, Wanda Gladden of Strasburg and Patricia Affleck and husband, Kirby Place, of Stephens City, VA; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Steven Affleck, three sisters and five brothers. She was the last of her family.

A funeral service will be held at Jones Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Walkowiak officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Winchester.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gladden, Calvin Harris, Robert Adams, Kirby Place, Rodney Affleck, and Edward Conrad. Bradley Stover will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
