Dorothy M. Wingfield Lofton, 90, of Winchester passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Rodger William Wingfield and Mary Catherine Higgs Conner Wingfield.

She is survived by three children; Cookie Sullivan (Larry) of Winchester, VA, Larry Lofton (Barbara) of Winchester, VA and Genie Searcy (Marty) of Colorado Springs, CO; and seven grandchildren, Anne Bannister, Corey Sullivan, Judd Lofton, Trevor Searcy, Cooper Searcy, Austin Searcy, and Brooke Lofton; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She married Eugene Lillis Lofton in September, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD. Mrs. Lofton enjoyed her job as a baker in the pastry business. She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Women of the Moose.

Mrs. Lofton was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lofton, son; Tommy “Krab” Lofton, and two brothers; Everett Conner and Lee Wingfield.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening October 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at Jones Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be conducted at Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Corey Sullivan, Marcus Bannister, Judd Lofton, Jensen Logan Lofton, Trevor Searcy, Cooper Searcy, Austin Searcy and Tyler Searcy.
