Obituary for Dorothy Lee Willingham (McDonald)

On August 1, 2016, Dorothy (Dotti) Willingham went to be with Jesus, her late husband Eugene (Gene) Willingham (deceased December 18, 2011), and her son Steve C. Willingham (deceased August 6, 2003). She was born December 23, 1929, to parents John and Dorothy McDonald, who are also deceased. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Ray (Cracker) McDonald of Bellvue, Florida; Allen McDonald of Front Royal, Virginia; Oakley (Buddie) McDonald of Urichsville, Ohio; Idell Good of Berryville, Virginia; and Helen Huff of Winchester, Virginia. She is survived by: her grandson Shane Willingham of Salt Springs, Florida; her great granddaughter Mary Savanah Willingham of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins in Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and Florida.
Dotti retired from Doubleday, Inc., in 1987 after 23 ½ years of service. She was also a caregiver at Godfrey’s nursing home; a caregiver for her husband, son, and mother until the Lord took them home; and a caregiver for Dottie Mitchel.
Dottie was a charter member of Marvin Chapel Community Church and Faith Fellowship Church. She was named 2010 Donor of the Year for the Veteran’s Hospital.
