James William  Judy
James William Judy, Sr, 91, of Middletown, VA, passed away March 22, 2016 in the home where he was born surrounded by family. Born October 22, 1924 to James Franklin and Lucy Pleasant Hannah Judy. He was the last surviving of ten children.

He married Anna Margaret Fleming, in Winchester, June 18, 1950. Anna preceded him in death in 2012. Jim is survived by his children: daughter, Lou Ann Thompson, son, James W Judy, Jr and wife, Ashby and daughter Robin “Beanie” Bentley and husband, Charlie. His daughter, Cynthia J Perry, preceded him in death in 2000.

Grandchildren: Matthew Thompson, Ryan Perry, Colby Perry & wife Katie, Blake Perry & wife Rachel, Lance Perry, Lacey Perry, James Judy, III, & wife Josie, Jessica Festa & husband Frank, Zachary Judy, Shelly Katz & husband Gene, Alex Bentley, Jared Bentley and John Bentley.
Great Grandchildren: Hunter Thompson, Trent Perry, Grace Perry, Berkeley Perry, Walker Perry, Avalynn Larrick, Jamilee Festa, Julianna Festa, Savannah Judy, James Judy, IV, Sadie Judy, and Yiannah Katz.

Jim graduated from Middletown High School in 1942. He was an active member and Sunday School teacher for many years at Reliance United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Methodist Men’s Group. Jim was Past Worshipful Master and 50 year member of Spurmont Lodge No. 98, A.F & A.M. He was a Past Patron of Spurmont Chapter No. 64 OES.
Jim was an inventor of the Patented Judy Power Rake and owned and operated Judy Excavating & Landscaping for over 50 years.

Jim played, pitched and coached the Middletown Baseball Team for many years and worked out with a Yankees farm team. He was a charter member of the Sherando Warrior Club and avid supporter of Sherando Athletics.

A Masonic Service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Reliance United Methodist
Church with Rev. Timothy E. Teates and Rev. Linda Lowe officiating. Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank Blue Ridge Hospice and most especially, our own, Josie Judy, for taking such loving care of our father during his final days.
