Obituary for Dorothy "Dottie" Stewart (Wetzel)
Dorothy “Dottie” W. Stewart, 88, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.
She was born September 9, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Theodore and Dorothy Wetzel. She earned her nursing certification from Bellevue hospital nursing Program in NYC. Dottie was a member of the Belleview Alumni Association and she was also a proficient expert in all aspects of needlework.
Dottie married James “Richie” Stewart, September 30, 1950 in Bellrose, NY.
She is survived by her husband Richie, two children: Jeffery James Stewart, of Garden City, New York, Nancy Dorothy Gottschalk (Roy), of Winchester, VA, four grandchildren, Emmy Gottschalk (Joe Moglia), Zachary Gottschalk (Lesley), Ryan Stewart (Casey), and Brett Stewart.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. January 24, 2018 at The Village at Orchard Ridge Chapel with Chaplain William Boldin officiating.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Orchard Ridge Benevolent Fund, 400 Clock Tower Ridge Drive, Winchester, VA 22603 or Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601
