Obituary for Rebecca Patrick "Lassie" Jenkins (Patrick)
Rebecca Patrick Jenkins, 89, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, June 2, 2017 at Green Valley Commons Assisted Living in Winchester.
She was born July, 12, 1927 in Richlands, VA; the daughter of Walter S. and Minnie Maude Altizer Patrick. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and a volunteer dispatcher for the Winchester Rescue Squad. She previously worked at the Wayside Inn in Middletown, ClearBrook Woolen Mill and was a beautician. She retired from the Richmond Petersburg Turnpike Authority.
Rebecca married Charles “Frank” Jenkins on February 2, 1946 in Winchester. Frank preceded her in death in May of 2004.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by a son, Franklin Patrick Jenkins and his wife, Nancy, of Winchester; a sister, Darnell Patrick Burcham and husband, Sonny, of Winchester, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Frank, she is preceded in death by a son John Michael Jenkins, two brothers, Sherman “Bud” Patrick, Roger Patrick , and a sister, Bernice Blanchfield.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Jones Funeral Home Winchester from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 am.
Burial will be at a later time.
