Cecil Lee Swisher, 89 of Winchester, VA, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.

Cecil was born February 18, 1929 in Clear Brook, VA, the son of the late Vestal and Mary Richards Swisher. He worked for Baker and Anderson Electrical Company until 1974. He then became fulltime in the antique business, operating “Cecil Antiques” in Winchester, until his retirement. Cecil was a member of Montague Avenue United Methodist Church.

He married Jean Elda Cornwell on April 5, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD.

Along with his wife he is survived by his son, Michael L. Swisher of Winchester; daughters, Nancy A. Lofton of Stephens City, VA and Barbara J. Welsh and her husband Charles of Winchester; sisters, Marie Shifflett of Winchester, Margaret Clowser of Winchester and Ruth Wenger of Akron, PA; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Cecil is preceded in death by his brother Cledith Swisher; sister, Rebecca VanMeter and an infant grandson.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Mayton officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
