Obituary for Frances Grove Catozella (Grove)
Frances Grove Catozella, 98, of Shepherdstown, WV formerly of Winchester, VA and Charles Town, WV passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
She was born in Winchester on December 3, 1918; the daughter of Oliver P. and Mattie Daw Grove.
She married Vincent A. Catozella on August 6, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1988.
During her long life Frances was an avid golfer and gardener. She was a member of the Beeline Chapter of the DAR, the Women of the Moose, Jefferson Garden Club and Shenandoah Garden Club in Charles Town, The Old Opera House Theatre Guild in Charles Town, Charles Town Presbyterian Church and she was founding member and past president of Hawthorne Garden Club in Winchester.
Surviving her are her daughter, Katherine D. Catozella of Charles Town; granddaughter, Caitlin E. Bennett and grandson in law, Benjamin M. McElhaney of Martinsburg, WV.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Mt Hebron Cemetery with Rev. Michel Q. Mayton officiating.
In lieu of flowers memory contributions may be made to Canterbury Center Patient Fund, 80 Maddex Drive, Shepherdstown, WV 25443-4305.
