Obituary for Wilhelm Karl Zimmer

Wilhelm Karl Zimmer, 85, of Winchester, VA, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Winchester Medical Center.
He was born January 19, 1927 in Frankfurt am/ Main, Germany the son of the late Heinrich Eugen and Barbara Lanna Zimmer.
He served with the German Infantry during WWII. He was employed by Safeway Stores in Landover, MD and supported Braddock Street United Methodist Church.
He married Doris Harding on January 21, 1961 in Toronto, Canada.
Along with his wife of Winchester, he is survived by two daughters, Ursula Barbara King of Middletown, VA and Lieselotte R. Shall of Pomfret, MD; two sisters, Renate Franz of Salem, WV and Lotte Heckeroth of Germany; a brother, Jürgen Zimmer of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Lori Waddell, Ashley Zywusko, Daryl J. Waddell, Benjamin Zywusko, Emili Zywusko and Zachary Zywusko; and three great grandchildren, Andrew Moore, Alex Zywusko, and Garrett James Waddell.
A sister, Irmgard Schaefer and a brother, Helmut Zimmer preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester with Rev. Kirk Nave officiating. Entombment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Jürgen Zimmer, James King, Daryl Waddell, Andrew Moore, Benjamin Zywusko, Zachary Zywusko, Robert Springer and Jim Shall.
